Imagined as an ironic brand, revlux works the edges of techno, pop production, jungle, and commercial rave in a range of tempos, subverting and celebrating electronic musical tropes while giving them a precocious new look. A native San Franciscan, Oren Ratowsky began his journey into electronic music as a techno and house DJ, nesting into the underground scene as co-founder of the label and promoter gang Booma Collective in 2009. His first release came out on Booma, with other material appearing on compilations, including a high-profile remix for Nicolas Jaar's Other People label. Woozy, psychedelic melodies, trance, decelerated jungle and taut and dexterous production coalesce into a bizarre amalgam of sound, effortlessly straddling the commercial and the experimental. These days, Ratowsky finds himself working as a producer in Los Angeles, collaborating with artists on projects ranging from pop to hip-hop and rap to happy hardcore, as a producer, co-writer, and engineer. He has also worked as mastering engineer on a number of underground heavyweights, including HuercoS, J. Albert, and Debit.
